FORMER NBA PLAYER ARRESTED OVER $23

Welcome to Arrest Stories. Former NBA player Delonte West was arrested in Belle Haven, Virginia on December twenty-first, twenty twenty-five, facing robbery and assault charges for allegedly taking twenty-three dollars from a victim. Here's what may have happened.

At approximately six thirty-six a.m., officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded to a call in the fifty-nine hundred block of Richmond Highway in Belle Haven. The caller reported being robbed and assaulted by an individual who then fled the scene on foot.

When police arrived at the location, the victim pointed across the street to identify the suspect they were looking for. Officers discovered it was forty-two-year-old Delonte West, whom officials described as someone they have unfortunately become familiar with over the years.

According to police reports, West allegedly robbed the victim of approximately twenty-three dollars before assaulting them and running from the scene. West was found nearby after fleeing and was taken into custody without further incident.

One official noted that West was very intoxicated at the time of his arrest. West was subsequently transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center before being released on bond to a treatment facility.

This marks West's second arrest in two months, following a previous incident in June twenty twenty-four when he was arrested after a brief police chase and officers administered Narcan.

West's representative issued a statement saying they are confident that in time this case will show itself to be one of things not being as they initially appear. The statement continued, saying they are proud of Delonte as he has used this process to seek out help and been released on bond to a treatment facility. We all look forward to his continued progress, and Delonte is particularly appreciative of the numerous thoughts and well wishes over the last several weeks.

West is scheduled to appear in Fairfax County court on March sixteenth for a hearing related to these charges.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
